Sources: Everton forced into reluctant Amadou Onana decision to fill Sean Dyche striker hole
Everton are reluctantly open to selling midfielder Amadou Onana to boost their own transfer kitty, TEAMtalk understands.
Onana was arguably the club’s outstanding performer last season in his debut campaign in England after his arrival from Lille last summer.
The 21-year-old made 35 appearances for Everton last term and it was his overall performances that made him a big fans’ favourite at Goodison Park
The Merseysiders have so far only brought in former Aston Villa defender Ashley Young on a free transfer as they are forced to work within tight financial fair play regulations.
Everton boss Sean Dyche knows he will need to wheel and deal this summer if he is to add to his squad, with the Toffees boss desperate to add to his side’s attacking options up front.
Dyche is aware he may have to sell someone in order to make more signings this summer and Onana is among the club’s most valuable assets.
The Toffees spent big on Onana last summer in a £33.5million deal and they would be expecting a big profit on the midfielder – if they are forced to sell the Belgian.
The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with moves for Onana and it remains to be seen if they do firm up their interest in the Belgian international before the close of the transfer window.
Everton kick-off the new Premier League season with a home game against Fulham on August 12.
