Solanke exit expected as Origi sale hits stumbling block

Divock Origi’s chances of leaving Liverpool before the end of the transfer window seem to have ended, according to reports.

The Reds asking price for the striker is £27million and they are refusing to budge on that price.

The Liverpool Echo claims that Borussia Dortmund are are unwilling to meet Liverpool’s demands and instead preferred to take the Belgium international on a season-long loan.

However, Liverpool would only consider permanent transfer offers for Origi with Wolves prepared to pay £22million plus add-ons for the striker.

Despite that offer from Wolves, it is understood that Origi wasn’t keen on a move to the newly-promoted club with two years left on his deal at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp may reassess loan interest in Dominic Solanke if Origi remains at Anfield as he had initially wanted to keep the Englishman at the club for back-up.

But with the possibility of Origi staying on for another year, Klopp may choose to loan out Solanke and use Origi for cover.
