Shock Cristiano Ronaldo transfer option emerges with businessman ‘ready to finance’ move for Man Utd legend
Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly be on the move in a matter of weeks amid claims a blockbuster package is being put together to return the veteran star to a major European club.
The 38-year-old stunned the footballing world by agreeing a lucrative move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr back in January. The move came about after the termination of his contract at Manchester United in which the star had very publicly criticised the club in a no-holds barred TV interview with Piers Morgan.
But despite reportedly instructing his agent to land him another Champions League side, takers for Ronaldo were few and far between. As a result, he ultimately opted to move to the Gulf State, where he was lured with the most lucrative sports contract ever offered.
Indeed, the legendary star signed a contract worth a staggering €200m-per-year (including sponsorships and commercial opportunities).
However, having (even more) money has not proved all it was cracked up to be for Ronaldo. And while he has scored 13 goals in 14 games for his new club, reports claim he has found it difficult settling into Riyad life.
And amid claims the language barrier and culture were proving difficult for his family, reports earlier this month suggest a return to Real Madrid could be on the cards for Ronaldo.
It seems though that Los Blancos have no plans to reunite with their record-breaking star.
But now a report has claimed a move to Bayern Munich could be on the cards thanks to the wealth of German businessman Markus Schon.

Businessman wants to bring Ronaldo to Bayern
Schon is reportedly a long-term admirer of Ronaldo’s and, as a fan of Bayern Munich, dreams of him playing at the Allianz.
Making most of his wealth from Yeezy Sneakers, it’s reported that Schon has been in contact with Bayern to try and facilitate the move. To that end, Schon is ‘ready to finance’ the move for Ronaldo and has a unique plan to help fund the deal.
And while Ronaldo would need to take a significant pay-cut to make the move, Schon reckons the player’s desire to extend his Champions League records would be enough to persuade him to make the move.
“It would be conceivable that we could undertake to pay a transfer fee or loan fee in excess of a basic amount to be defined if our company is clearly seen as ‘facilitating’ the difference,” Schon wrote, per Abendzeitung.
“In the event of a permanent commitment, we would expect a share in the proceeds from the jersey in order to limit our financial risk.”
Bayern chief executive Oliver Kahn has since played down reports of a move to bring Ronaldo to Bavaria.
However, with Borussia Dortmund on the cusp of ending their 10-year run as champions, a change in strategy is forecast.
And per some observers, the signing of Ronaldo could be just the tonic Bayern need.
Big changes are likely regardless this summer with Thomas Tuchel ready to ring the changes. As a result, the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Sadio Mane are among the high-profile stars likely to depart.
