Mo Salah, Jordan Henderson could renew acquaintances in Saudi Arabia
Jordan Henderson has done little to ease speculation that Mohamed Salah could be about to ditch Liverpool for Al-Ittihad after a worrying admission about a conversation between the pair.
The Reds are seemingly battling to keep Salah at Anfield this week as the unlimited funds of cash from Saudi Arabia bid to prise the Egyptian king to the Gulf State. The 31-year-old Liverpool talisman is the biggest sportsman in the Arabic world, which is why his potential signing would be seen as the biggest coup yet for their Pro-League.
And while Liverpool are adamant that Salah is going nowhere, reports claim that Al-Ittihad are preparing to offer the Merseysiders a world-record £215m transfer package to get the deal over the line.
Furthermore, Al-Ittihad plan to offer Salah the sort of eye-watering wages the average man can only dream about. To that end, Cristiano Ronaldo’s £1.3m deal a week will comfortably be topped with this article revealing the full list of riches on offer to Salah.
Despite the Saudi approach, Jurgen Klopp has made it crystal clear that Liverpool have no intention of accepting his sale.
“I never had any doubt about his commitment to this club. You can’t imagine how much fuss the world has made but how calm we are with it. He is our player and wants to play here,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
Behind the scenes, though, mischief-making Saudi Arabia reports claim Salah is severely-tempted by the move.
Now his former Liverpool teammate, Henderson, who himself made the move to Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia this summer, has done little to ease speculation that he could be joined in the Middle East by Salah.

Fuelling claims Salah could be on the move before the Saudi transfer window closes this Thursday, Henderson revealed to The Athletic of the conversations held between the pair.
And while he insists he has not spoken to Salah directly about the potential move, he claims they have chatted about life in Saudi Arabia in general.
“I haven’t spoken to him about the [transfer] situation,” Henderson said. “Obviously I spoke to him briefly over the past week or two in terms of he was asking if I was ok, everything was all right, how I’m settling in, the normal sort of stuff. I’ve sort of left him with this.
“He’ll have everybody ringing him and texting him and things like that. So I’ve sort of left him to… I don’t really know exactly what’s going on. I just see what’s being said in the media in terms of the bids going in and things like that.”
Henderson refuses to say whether he thinks the move will go through. However, he admits he will watch with interest to see if there are any late developments around the proposed £215m switch.
“It’ll be interesting to see what happens because he’s an amazing player, an amazing guy and whatever happens, he’ll have a big impact – whether that’s at Liverpool or in the Saudi League, whatever it may be… whether that’s now, in the future or whenever it may be. He’s a fantastic addition to any team.”

Henderson may be a Liverpol player no more, but he has incredibly fond memories of his decade-long service at Anfield. To that end, Henderson has explained the factors behind his summer departure from Anfield.
The former Reds skipper used to have a imput into potential new signings at Liverpool. And he has revealed that, in his closing weeks on Merseyside, he tried to convince the club into the signing of Jude Bellingham.
Ultimately Liverpool decided to pass on his signing, with their priorities lying in quantity as well as quality, leaving the 20-year-old free to make a €103m move to Real Madrid instead.
Discussing why he was desperate for Liverpool to land his England teammate, he commented: “Maybe not to the owners but you can probably think of certain players that I might have tried for in the past, especially recently! Which looking back now, he’s on fire so (laughing) I might have thought we should have just paid the money!
“But in the end they have a structure, they have a plan and if it doesn’t fall within that then they’re not going to change for it. Because it has a knock-on effect. It’s great to sign these amazing players with loads of wages and it’s amazing for everyone. But in the end you’ll then have different players coming in wanting different money, you’ve got players within saying, ‘Well, I want…’. It causes loads of different issues within.
“They always have a plan, always have a strategy and they know what they’re doing. The most important thing is they care about the club and that’s the biggest thing I would say about them.”
Henderson, who is in the England squad for their forthcoming games against Ukraine on Saturday and Scotland on Tuesday, could renew his excellent midfield partnership with the new Los Blancos star in the game.
