Major Rodon update as Tottenham look to beat the clock to signing
Tottenham are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Swansea centre-back Joe Rodon after a breakthrough in talks on deadline day.
Football Insider claims that Spurs are in advanced negotiations after tabling a new offer on Friday.
A recruitment source told Football Insider that Jose Mourinho’s men are more likely than not to now finalise the signing of the Wales star before the 5pm cut-off.
The report adds that Swansea are now searching for a replacement for Rodon. The Welsh club are after a proven Premier League centre-back to fill the void.

It is stated that Tottenham will complete a straight-cash deal, with the fee in the region of £15million.
Swansea previously rejected to take USA international Cameron Carter-Vickers as part of the deal.
Rodon has been Mourinho’s top domestic target after a move for Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar failed to materialise.
The 6t 3in defender has played 54 times for the club, 52 of which have come in the Championship.
He has been a regular for Swansea this season and also featured against England in Wales 3-0 defeat.
Rodon could be thrust straight in Spurs action, if he does sign, with Japhet Tanganga currently sidelined and Eric Dier also struggling with a hamstring injury.
Daniel Levy a ‘genius’
Jose Mourinho has described Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy as a “genius” for his work in the transfer window this summer.
Spurs brought back club legend Gareth Bale and also added Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty, Joe Hart, Sergio Reguilon and Carlos Vinicius in a busy window.
And Mourinho was quick to praise his boss as he spoke ahead of Sunday’s clash with West Ham.
The Portuguese said: “Mr Levy showed once more that when he wants and when he is really involved he is a genius in the way he makes deals happen.
“More than I was expecting. We were talking about different targets but I never thought we would go so far as we did. I can only praise what the board did for the team.
“Now it’s for me and my staff and players to have a really good season.”
