Free transfers are becoming more common in football and a lot of Premier League stars have run down their contracts in 2023.
While some players still have a contract offer on the table and are weighing up their options, others have been deemed surplus to requirements.
Using data from transfermarkt, we’ve taken a look at every first-team player whose contract with a Premier League side has just expired.
Note: an asterisk indicates that the club have the option to extend the player’s contract for another year but have not yet activated it.

Zemura rejected Bournemouth’s contract offer and joined Serie A side Udinese and Stacey has dropped down to the Championship with Norwich City.
Lerma will remain in the Premier League as he has agreed to join Crystal Palace on a three-year contract.

Brentford will have a new captain in the 2023/24 season as Jansson has confirmed that he’ll rejoin boyhood club Malmo on a free transfer.

While Roberto De Zerbi wants to extend Veltman’s stay at Brighton, the defender is yet to sign a new deal amid reported interest from Barcelona and Roma.

Zaha is attracting interest from across the world but Palace have offered the winger a new four-year contract worth £200,000-a-week in a final attempt to keep him at Selhurst Park.

Milner has signed a one-year deal with Brighton and Keita has returned to the Bundesliga, joining Werder Bremen on a free transfer.
Firmino is reportedly in talks with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli and Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move to Aston Villa.

Lingard has left Forest after just one solitary season at the City Ground and has been linked with clubs in America and Saudi Arabia.
“I want regular game time. I’m still hungry. I’m working hard out here,” Lingard told Sky Sports. “Saudi Arabia… they are doing big things. It’s one of the hotspots to go to.
“I’m not really surprised that a lot of big names are moving out there. They’ve been doing really big things in the last couple years. It’s something that I’m going to consider as well. It’s just got to be right for me at the end of the day.
“I’ll go with my gut feeling. I just want to get on the pitch. I’m still hungry for success.”
