Everton lead Wolves, Leeds in charge for 6ft 5in defensive mountain
Tosin Adarabioyo’s form with loan club Blackburn Rovers has seen the defender linked with big-money moves to Everton, Wolves and Leeds, among others, this summer.
The Manchester City defender caught the eye during a loan stint at West Brom last season and has further enhanced his reputation this after impressing during Blackburn’s late-season burst to try and reach the play-offs.
And the 22-year-old’s form has seen a number of sides sent scouts to check on his progress with 90min.com claiming Everton, Newcastle, Leicester, Burnley, Southampton and Leeds United, are all interesting in signing him.
Adarabioyo will have 12 months remaining on his contract at the Etihad come the end of the season and it’s been reported the defender – who has only played eight times for City and not once in the Premier League – is reluctant to extend his stay.
As such, City will look to cash in this summer and are reported to be open to the idea of shifting the England Under-21 international on if a buyer matches their reported £20m asking price.
Furthermore, it’s reported City will demand on a buy-back clause in the defender’s deal, similar to the arrangement that took Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz to Aston Villa last summer.
It’s claimed Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton are leading the chase for the 6ft 5in centre-half – but he’s not short of admirers with scouts flocking to Ewood Park to check on his progress.
Adarabioyo has featured 27 times for Rovers this season, scoring two goals.
Meanwhile, former Stoke midfielder Gianelli Imbula has praised Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, during his first interview with his new club FC Sochi.
The two crossed paths during their time at Marseille, arguably the most successful period in Imbula’s career. He played 66 times over two seasons for the French club, where he helped them to a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1 under Bielsa’s stewardship alongside the likes of Dimitri Payet, Andre-Pierre Gignac and Andre Ayew.
