The Sky Blues as Coventry are known currently play their football in The Championship. Established in 1883 and originally known as Singers FC, the club boast a long and storied history that includes plenty of time playing in the top flight and a famous FA Cup win in the season of 1986/87. With a highest ever Premier League finish of 11th, they changed their name from Singers FC to the current incarnation in 1898. Although they currently play at what is known as The Coventry Building Society Arena (formerly the Ricoh Arena), they are most famously associated with Highfield Road, a venue that was their home for more than 100 years.
Coventry City are currently managed by Mark Robbins, the former Manchester United and Norwich City striker, while they are skippered by Scottish midfielder Liam Kelly. Over the years many famous names have worn the famous blue and white striped shirts. Some of the biggest names include Dion Dublin, Gary McAllister, Gary McSheffrey and the incredible Steve Ogrizovic who made a total of 601 appearances for Coventry. Coventry City are owned by businesswoman Joy Seppala's Otium Entertainment Group.
