Founded in 1882, this Lancashire-based club is known as The Clarets due to the colour of their kit. Burnley are based at Turf Moor, a venue they have played at since 1883. Over the course of their history, Burnley have tasted plenty of success. Currently playing their trade in the Premier League, they have twice finished top of the league in the top flight. They achieved this success in the seasons of 1920/21 and 1959/60. They have also finished in second place on two occasions. Additionally they have also won the FA Cup once and claimed the Charity Shield twice.
The club are currently managed by Sean Dyche, who has been there since 2012, a fantastic run that means he is currently the third longest-serving manager in the Football League and the longest-serving boss in the Premier League. Prior to Dyche, other managers who have tasted success with The Clarets include Harry Potts and John Haworth, the only two gaffers to take charge of more games for Burnley than Dyche has.
A quick look through the list of players that have donned the famous shirt includes names like goalkeeper Adam Blacklaw, winger Willie Morgan, defender Colin Waldron, Ralph Coates and Leighton James. More recently it is names like Nick Pope, Jay Rodriguez, Chris Wood and Ben Mee that are the current heroes.
